Export process: from inquiry to your port
Buying a Monjaro L from China takes five stages. In-stock vehicles ship within 10 working days after payment; the sea voyage depends on your route.
What are the steps to import a Monjaro L?
1. Inquiry and specification
Tell us the model year, powertrain, trim, colour, quantity and destination port. We confirm stock and reply with FOB or CIF pricing. Mixed orders — different trims or other Chinese brands in one shipment — are welcome.
2. Proforma invoice (PI)
The PI lists each vehicle, the agreed price, delivery timeline and payment terms. We work with T/T bank transfer or L/C at sight. For in-stock units, the vehicles are reserved once the deposit or L/C is received.
3. Inspection
Before loading, vehicles are checked and photographed. You receive a photo or video confirmation at each milestone. If your bank, buyer or regulator needs it, an independent inspection company such as SGS can be booked at the buyer’s cost.
4. Loading: Ro-Ro or 40HQ container
Vehicles are trucked to a Chinese port such as Shanghai or Ningbo. For container shipping they are lashed at the wheels, often on racks to fit more units; for Ro-Ro they are driven onto the vessel and secured on deck.
5. Documents and delivery
After departure we send the original documents for customs clearance: bill of lading (B/L), commercial invoice, packing list and certificate of origin. Your broker then clears the vehicles and arranges registration in your country.
Ro-Ro or container: which shipping method should I choose?
Ro-Ro is usually the economical choice for larger volumes on routes with regular car-carrier service; a 40HQ container suits smaller orders, inland destinations and mixed cargo, and keeps vehicles sealed during transit.
| Ro-Ro | 40HQ container | |
|---|---|---|
| How vehicles travel | Driven onto the ship, secured on vehicle decks | Strapped inside a sealed container, often on racks |
| Typical fit | Larger volumes, ports with car-carrier calls | From one unit; usually 2–4 SUVs per container |
| Mixed cargo | Vehicles only | Vehicles plus parts or accessories |
| Inland delivery | Port-to-port | Container can continue by rail or truck |
FOB or CIF?
Under FOB, our responsibility ends when the vehicles are loaded on the vessel in China; you book and pay ocean freight. Under CIF, we also pay freight and minimum marine insurance to your port, but risk still transfers at loading in China. Both are defined in the ICC Incoterms® 2020 rules. Many first-time importers choose CIF for one consolidated price.
Which documents will I receive?
- Bill of lading (B/L)
- Title document for the cargo; needed to collect the vehicles at the destination port.
- Commercial invoice
- Shows the transaction value used by customs to calculate duties.
- Packing list
- Lists each vehicle with VIN, model and packing details.
- Certificate of origin (CO)
- Proves Chinese origin; may affect duty rates under trade agreements.
- Vehicle conformity papers
- Factory documents available for the vehicle; homologation in your country is handled locally.
Who handles homologation in my country?
Import approval and registration rules are set by each destination country, and the importer of record is responsible for them. We supply the factory and export documents and answer technical questions; please confirm requirements with your customs broker before ordering. Our market guides list the authorities to contact.
